Newborn photos Newcastle | A sunny newborn shoot at home

No two newborn sessions are ever the same — and that's exactly how it should be.


This newborn session in Newcastle had it all. A family dog who needed zero encouragement to get involved. A toddler with very strong opinions about when (and whether) she was having her photograph taken. And a gorgeous sunny morning that meant we could get some outdoor shots too.


As with my usual newborn sessions, I followed the family's lead in the main. Their dog joined in when he wanted to, their daughter said "no" more than once before showing us exactly why toddlers make such wonderful subjects to photograph, and we made the most of the lovely sunshine in their stunning garden.


What we ended up with was a collection of photographs that totally feels like them — a snapshot of family life exactly as it was during those early days with their new baby.


I particularly love this set. So much personality in every frame — the gorgeous big sister moments, the gentle cuddles, and a dog who very much considered himself part of the action.
