The last time I photographed these twin girls was when they were wee babies. Coming back five years later to capture them again, full of life and personality was a real privilege.
We started in their garden, a beautiful space that gives them the freedom to just be themselves. At five they're at that brilliant age where everything around them is interesting and every little moment can be turned into a game or question. They picked flowers to make perfume, watered plants, took in the smell of roses with every fibre of their being, skipped, played Mr Wolf, then into the house to dress up. Their energy was a joy to photograph, the kind that can't be staged and doesn't need to be!
Time moves so crazy fast when you're kids are little so shoots like this let you bottle the memories of these days for you, your kids and their kids!
