Natural Family Photo Shoot Outdoors Durham | Katie & Nancy

This shoot was an absolute joy. A mum and daughter duo with a fabulous girl gang energy that made me smile the whole time I was with them.


We did what they often do at weekends. A walk round Hardwick Park with swings, slides, roundabouts, balancing along logs, throwing twigs in the river, stomping through leaves, play-acted rabbits - like what didn't we do!


Then we headed back to the house, snacks all round, a bit of a read then Nancy did what all kids just love to do and dress up. I've got to say the whole Doctor Princess Backpacker get up impressed me no end.


This is what I love about documentary family photography. You get to make magic out of ordinary moments. The walks you take every week, the dressing up, the games they love, the way they move through their world ♥️


You don't need anything fancy. Just a regular day with your kids, exactly as it is.


Because your real life is more beautiful than you realise.
