I always notice this because it means it's nearly time for outdoor photo shoots.

Kids can run, climb, splash and just be themselves - no one's asking them to stand still or look at the camera. And when nobody's thinking about the camera, that's when the best moments happen.

There's also so much choice in what you do and where you go. A favourite beach, a woodland walk, a park you visit every weekend, or even your own garden. Shoots don't have to be purely outdoors either. Some families like to do both—where they start inside, letting the kids settle in and get used to me being around, then move outside or vice versa.
